About Dyrön – all our best.

Dyrön, just north of Marstrand is one of Tjörn municipality’s six archipelago islands with year-round residents. Almost 190 permanent residents live here, but in the summer the island is filled with boat and summer guests.
As one of the few islands, Dyrön offers a year-round ICA store with system company delivery, postal service, café and pizzeria. In the northern harbor is the Trålverket restaurant that Tobias runs, an archipelago bistro with the catch of the day on the menu. Open from Easter to late summer and open for Christmas dinners.

In the summer, however, more businesses open their doors to thirsty, hungry and culturally interested guests. Among other things, Galleri Bockeberget with local and national artists. The island also has boules and tennis court, mini golf, soccer field, playground and a small sports hall with gym. The hiking trail that meanders scenically with wonderful views around the island also attracts many tourists to the island.

Dyrön also has a very popular sauna that can be booked, which in 2008 was named Sweden’s finest electrically heated sauna. Except bathing in the sauna, there are also two bathing areas here with trampolines, bathing ladders and a sandy beach, as well as an endless number of rock outcrops and coves for those who want relaxing peace and quiet. The two bathing areas are very close to the two guest harbors – North and South Harbor – which, with their different characters, complement each other with a variety of services and experiences.

The large number of year-round residents means that the island also has a varied and viable business life and an active community association, which makes Dyrön a living island where the windows shine even when the winter storms roll in.
